While Audi had my car, they performed the 23X6 recall. I hadn't heard about this, nor did they advise me of the recall, or tell me they had done it! I found out because it was recorded on the service sheet left on the passenger seat.
I found reference to the recall and 272ps models with S tronic and Adblue. My 2014 model doesn't use Adblue, and has the tiptronic. (Not multitronic as Whippy53 pointed out [emoji1750])
I drove home in traffic so everything felt the same, but now I am wondering if the change overwrites the ECU, and if it will effect remaps?
Have any other C7 BiTdi owners experienced the recall and effects?

It doesn't have a multitronic.

It doesn’t does it. Tiptronic! I’ll edit my first post.
Since posting I used the Audi website VIN search for the recall, it says my car (MY14) doesn’t need it... yet it’s on my service record. I’ll speak to the dealer tomorrow.

Did you find out what this recall was about?

I believe it's the emissions fudge.

Audi confirmed that they have overwritten my ECU.
Really not happy about it.
I asked for details of exactly what the changes do, and told “it stops the engine behaving incorrectly when you have an MOT”
Yeah I get it, the “cheat device”, although I never received a recall letter or email, I’ve had the car from new and my contact details haven’t changed. The Audi VIN checker for effected cars says my car has no recall.
It’s overwritten my map, the performance difference has become obvious and my typical family journey MPG has dropped from 42.9 to 38.
I don’t have the time in life to complain, yet I am really angry they didn’t have consent, and just proceeded.

Do cars fail the MOT without the "proper" software? Or is it other counties / regions that are so strict that it would fail theirs but not ours?

My service department asked if the car was remapped, i said no so they said ok if it was we cannot do the ecu upgrade, so they really should have checked with you.
