Hi All,

Just joined today.
Can anyone please advise the way to go for an EGR removed remap? Basically, I am after a small power increase, but mainly after smoothness and economy.
Where to get it done and approx costs would be good if possible.
Thanks for your help.

It is illegal, won’t improve power or fuel consumption but will increase the emissions that kill people...

There are a bunch of ways you can gain or rather restore power and economy, as most lose a fair bit over the years.

Use better fuel
Maintain perfect tyre pressure
Add fuel system cleaner, diesel purge
Decrease oil and filter change interval
Use correct spec oil
Change fuel filter more frequently
Periodically clean intake components (50k)
Adjust injector strike clearance
Adjust timing for optimal running
Remove and clean turbo (100k)
Change to hybrid turbo unit

Plus other tweaks - all legal

Definitely improves economy a tiny bit as oxygenated Vs inert incombustable exhaust gasses .

But it raises combustion temperatures and increases the generation of NOX, nasty stuff that kills people.

So nasty and widespread I don't know anyone that's died from it , plenty of engines that have been choked from the soot though .

All the MOT testers I know are alive and well , one veteran, now part time and 72 out runs his daughter who smokes !

The government are very good at sensationalism and tell you what they want you to believe , but then they always tell us the truth..

I don't know anyone that died of Ebola, but I belive people did. There's plenty of independent reasearch on that and also on excess deaths due to NOx if you want to refresh your understanding.

"The Royal College of Physicians study in fact combines two figures: 29,000 deaths that are attributed to particulate (PM) pollution and 11,000 attributed to nitrogen dioxide (NO2)"

That's the problem with recent times , 'fake news' .

The NOx issue isn't bad enough otherwise the gubberment would instruct us to use a biofunctional coated cabin activated pollen filter in our cars that filter NOx , diesel particulates and more !!!

You might find that industry lobbyists steer them away from that type of intervention in case it gets people to really start thinking about the effects of burning fossil fuels in urban areas as their loved ones pass by. But that may be some fake news that was passed on to me.

Such cabin filters would inevitably only be necessary due to too many people removing the emissions reducing items from their cars. Eventually all older diesels will disappear from our roads leaving only those with lower emissions.

I personally suffer from heart arrhythmia issues directly caused by a small leak in my exhaust the gases from which entered the cabin for a number of months unbeknown to me. My doctor confirmed that it was almost certainly this that caused the change. There may be many hundreds of thousands of people adversely affected by high NOx, with similar issues who have not died!!

All those options lists , equipment and colours , but no carbon monoxide type detector .

Often thought about such options like there bizarrely isn't a choice of two sizes of front seats .
