Hi All.

Just signed up after trolling the net, this forum for days, i cannot find the answer i'm looking for on my own.

14 plate A6 2.0d - S line black edition has developed a limp mode status, with the engine and coil light on, TPMS was on now cleared, Start/stop function unavailable, so i took it to a mate with Vagcom, un clearable error on the Manifold pressure sensor i assume this to be the MAP sensor, however i cannot find the location of this sensor in the engine bay, searching the net provides nothing for this model as far as i can see.

Happy to dig around in the engine bay but was hoping for a step for a hint in which corner to look.

Any body know where this sensor may be?

Cheers all.

mj, A bit late probably but I encountered exactly the same fault. If you still need help then indicate. For others... The MAP looks like a black lozenge and is on a metal bracket just right of the engine centreline at rear of engine near scuttle in a slightly elevated position. The sensor has been updated by VAG ( now coded '.......K' IIRC - I can check if needed ). It cost approx £62 new from VAG ( quickest place to buy the updated sensor I found ) which is a disgrace for MEMS pressure sensor costing a few bob to make. I then had A DPF error... I now have that and an engine overheating problem. I am now less than enamoured with Audi as they are a pig to work on, information is sparse, spare parts cost a fortune and they are a King's ransom to put to the dealership for what are trivial problems.

BTW...A MAP can be easily tested using a safety pin as a back-of-connector probe with a multimeter probing the pressure signal pin.... The 3 pins are GND, PWR ( 5v ? ) and SIGNAL and if the latter does not move full range +/- 5V (?) as you press accelerator then that confirms MAP is a dud. Watch multimeter screen through car windscreen under raised bonnet !!
