There’s not a lot of info out there on this retrofit so I thought I’d share what I know. I’ve not done a guide before so go easy on me :)
Cost to me was £150 for both wing mirrors from eBay and £40 for a new door card so all in £190 - after selling old bits I will probably get about 100-120 back. it’s no where near as expensive as other people make out !
Parts needed where :
2x Folding Mirrors
4G2857409 AB (left)
4G2857410 AB (right)
1x new door trim with folding mirror switch (cheaper to buy new door card and sell your old one)
I didn’t need new door modules, mine where already right ones (everyone’s probably are comparable, I don’t have any optional extras as standard on the car but heated seats)
My modules for reference are 4G8 959 793 J
Access to VCDS for coding
To Remove both wing mirrors you’ll need to ...
-Remove both front door cars
-Remove trim near the wing mirror
-Undo 3 bolts holding wing mirrors on
-Unplug harness to wing mirror and then the mirror should be free
-Repeat above but backwards to install new motorised mirror
-Now you’ll need to swap mirror switch over onto your door card (quite straight forward there’s some t20 screws on back of door card holding them on)
-Then install both door cards back on and your done! Just need to code them to the car
