Bit of help please guys

Replaced the PS pump and belt on my 2003 3.0 petrol v6, mrs has driven it about 20 miles maximum this week and went to check the fluid level (just to be sure it hadnt dropped since the pump change) and it was actually lime green in colour? Not the clear, dark green colour it was when we filled it, but a bright, lime green colour

Any ideas??

Did you use COVID-19 fluid?

Could it be full of tiny air bubbles, making it look lighter coloured?

EDIT: You could try sucking out a small amount - I use a hypodermic syringe for this (without the needle), and let it settle in a clear glass container.

I would do an engine running flush (do you know what I mean?) and refill.

I just tried shaking a half bottle of Fairy liquid. It definitely looks much lighter. So might be worth a try - the pump could be sucking in some air through the feed from the reservoir.

This would also increase the volume, is the level noticeably higher?

What you get upto in your lock down time is none else's business...:naughty:

The running flush is simples, take off the reservoir rack return hose and plug the fitting, then extend the return to a drain bucket. Run the engine and poor a couple of litres of fresh fluid through into the bucket and then reconnect and re fill.
