poor running on a4 avant 2001

a4 avant tdi se 115hp 2001
right have got vag-com and it showed maf problem, changed the maf unit. running problem remains, the symptoms are:
car idles well
when driving plucks between1000 and 2000 revs then appears to runs fine.
if i floor it then the problem does not seem to appear.

i am going to change the fuel filter but wondered if anyone could shed some light or ideas about the problem.:biglaugh:

also appears to be a small oil leak from the top of the egr unit, could this be a problem

Did you use a quality original maf unit? aftermarket cheap ones are not clever...

bought an after market one but the problems i am getting are the same as they were previously, have run vag-com and there are no fault codes showing, was wondering about fuel pump?
