rear wash wipe trouble

Hi folks, my rear wash wipe has stopped working, opened the boot & water leaked out (later the alarm kept coming on). Can anyone tell me what to check for / poss cause of problem ?

Hi

A common fault is: ---- Were the wiring and pipe for the rear washers go across from the tailgate to the body, (a rubber converluted tube) the pipe or wiring can fracture due to constant opening and closing.... may be worth checking;)

hmmm, checked the rubber converluted tube running from body to tailgate & they seem in good nic, do I need to remove any interior bodywork on the boot ?

Only other thing I can think off, is, if I remember correct, does the washer jet come through the centre of the motor wiper spindle? I have know these to break off were the pipe joins inside the tailgate, this could have cause water to enter the motor and burnt it out...:(

Hi Stuart,

sorted it thanks, the pipe become disconnected; had to take off the interior panel in the boot & reconnect the pipe. No idea how it became loose but & I hope it stays on !
