Hi all,

my suspension has been showing an error on the dash for the last 2 days but yesterday went down to the bump stops. I can’t find anything on line about where the compressor is located for the C7. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I don’t want to be taking it all apart hunting the thing down!

edit: just got my OBDeleven delivered and have plugged it in to reveal the DTCs of C104600(Level control system static) C104500 (Leak detected in system)

am I right in thinking a leak has caused the compressor to burn out? I can’t hear it running any more and the fault has only appeared intermittently over the last week, so no real indication that something was seriously wrong until yesterday. It strikes me that compressor failure has happened quickly?

At the front of the spare wheel well, on the outside. Looks to be held up by 5 X M6 nuts (10mm head)

Has to close by the axle because the leveler has to be close by. Look right by the frame. I better use the right word . By the platform.

Easy to remove, the compressor plug terminal had blown apart on the wifes C7, quick bodge and we were off again.
I did not notice the plug had been repaired until I got the comp off and on the bench, went to run it off my spare battery, and thats when the terminal fell apart in my hand!

Thanks all, I got it off and stripped it down, noticed some corrosion across the o ring /seal for the compression chamber and cleaned that up. Also changed the relay and the car has stayed up all night in wheel jack mode, so I suspect that the leak was the compressor itself across that seal. If it goes again I’ll try a rebuild kit with a new seal, rest of the pump worked okay.

It is very easy to get access to it, only difficulty is getting a trolley jack under when the car is slammed to get ground!

that’s an ugly repair, so close to the plug too...

Quite a common for the repair to be in that location as they mostly 'go' from that point. The yellow wire is the standard audi repair wire. Audi repair instructions say always to replace the relay anyway
