Hi all,
Hope someone can help. I have an Audi A6 Avant 2.0 tdi 177 with multitronic auto, 62 plate, and was hoping someone could inform me where the thermostat is located. I’m almost certain that it’s faulty. Many thanks in advance.

Hi,
Just an update for future reference. The thermostat is located at the front of the engine on the drivers side. Bugger to get at though!!

As it's an auto it may well have a transmission cooler thermostat as well.

It's very common for this stat to fail which results in an overcooled engine, temperature gauge struggles to get to 90 if at all.

This stat is located under the air duct between the battery & engine above the gearbox & easy to change.
