Immobiliser help please (Durham area)

Can anybody help me please,
I have got a 51 Reg golf with a problem with the immobiliser,
When you put the key in the immobiliser light flashes and beeps but the car still starts and drives perfectly fine,
I just want it sorting because it is very annoying lol,

So any help and advice would be greatly appreciated thank you

Interesting, you need to start with a code raed of the instruments to see what is wrong

Yeah I thought I might that’s why I posted in here to see if anyone was around that could help but not had much luck yet

I have had it on a computer today at kwik fit where my cousin works (not vag com) and it appears that the immobiliser has been bypassed/deactivated
This might be a good time to mention that to car is not standard, it has had a 1.8 20V turbo convention done at some point in its life before I got it if that makes a difference,

Yes that is a WHOLE different can of worms, no idea how you get around that. I,don’t understand why people do things like this when you can buy a proper 1.8T Golf 4 off the shelf for peanuts.

I have no idea mate, the car has had an absolute fortune spent on it by someone, it runs and drives excellent with loads of power it just this one thing that is really annoying me about it and I don’t know how to sort it

You need to find someone who can rewrite the software for the adsh to eliminate it looking for a transponder chip or not communicating with the ECU, as you do no give the fault code number I can't tell which.
