Hi,
I just purchased a gamma stereo for my Golf Mk4 and have got it fitted and working; however the contrast for the display is very low making the text on it very difficult to read.
The blue backlight on the display is fine, it's just the black text that is a problem; its very faded and impossible to read at night when the blue blacklight comes on. I had a look in the manual but there does not seem to be a way of changing the contrast.
Could you help please?
Shams.

I am having this problem also although it does not appear to be the contrast but the viewing angle - if I stick my head down by the gear stick I can read the text fine its only when looking down on the unit,
can anyone shed any light on this? or even tell me whether they can view the text on other gamma units from approx. 45deg above?

I have also tried striping it down to the pcb (requires a T6, T8, T10 and a flat head for the record) but with no joy the polarisation appears to be built into the screen so I could not invert it.
I do not have a manual for the sterio have you checked here or in the TD menu as I dont know what half the stuff in the menu is? I have seen some blaupunkt sterios with electronic viewing angle control . .

i've got a bora with a gamma unit that does not have this fault - text viewed fine at night from above... but my golf with a beta unit has this fault. i'd love to know if there's a solution! it really bugs me

I asked the guy on ebay and he said mine was from a 'polo 9n 2002' so i guess it must be that in the polo it is mounted higher whereas in my passat it is low
still if anyone knows how to modify or adjust please post
