You mean BKD... Check fuse SB29 and if this has power and is not blown, look for the 14 pin black terminal block on the left chassis leg behind the radiator below and to the cars right of the headlight. Open this up and test for power at pin 2 on the yellow/red wire and check the plug for water damaged which is very common. If this is all OK and shows 12v, check for continuity from the other half of the terminal block upto pin 2 on the Air Mass Meter.

Hi again well I am still scratching my head lol.. so I have checked fuse 29 in under bonnet fuse box and there is power but no fuse so I have put a 10 amp fuse in but still no 12 volt feed to the maf sensor so I have now checked the 14 pin plug and I found that the yellow and red wire in pin 2 has no power and the other side of plug has no wire it's got a white bung in it. And in pin one it has a green and black wire that goes into a black wire on other side of plug which I have checked continuity from there to the plug on the maf but getting nothing ???? I am totally out of my comfort zone with all this wiring but cannot afford a garage so if you understand what I have wrote on hear and have anything else for me I would appreciate it thanks..

I'm not the best with wiring, despite trying to learn more as I go, and am in a bit of an electrical nightmare with my own car at the min, ha. However, I notice you say you have a BKD engined golf, which is the same 2.0L engine as my GT SPort Golf so if you want me to confirm some things like the colours of wires or the readings on my wires I'll try and do so.

The only practical help regards the wiring I think I can offer is what I've found on my car with my coolant sensor, maybe the 12v maf wire is shorted to ground. I don't know if you've tested this or know how to but to do so put 1 probe on the battery positive terminal and the other on your Maf connector pin where you expect to see your 12v, if you now have 12v then you have a short to ground.

Check fuse 8 in the engine bay fuse board.
