2012 polo left rear tail light no power

Hi, can anybody help me, my daughters 2012 polo 1.2 left rear tail light went out and brought up the yellow warning on the dash, when i went to change the lamp i discovered there was no power for the tail light lamp. There isnt a fuse for the tail lights and i believe they are switched by the central electronic control module? can anybody point me to any connectors further back in the harness i can check or what i can do next please? i do have a vcds lead if that will help.

You can’t check it in the old way as unless it detects a resistance from an incandescent bulb, the central electrics will not supply power.
