Hi all, I have a vw bora 51 1.6se with 61k miles on the clock. I was thinking of adding a ram Air filter to it however I was wondering at that engine size is it worth it, would I see any benefit at all? Not particularly looking for performance increase more fuel efficiency and sound?
Thanks for the help

Welcome to the forum Leo. You are probably best asking in one of the golf forums. I wouldn't think that an air filter would make much difference to that age car and engine.

Probably the only benefit would be to make the people who sell it to you slightly richer:D

When I worked on the counter at a motor factors and people came in asking about performance air filters I used to say the same thing... A manufacture spends millions getting a cars's engine to run right and perform well, do you think a filter costing £30, £40, £50 or whatever will make that much difference?
I fitted a K & N element to my old Seat Leon Cupra which was remapped in 2003, only thing it did was knacker the air flow meter when it sucked the oil out the filter, so cost me one of those :) but I did not notice any real difference.
