Hi Everyone, I hope you might be able to help with a problem I am having.
Car: Audi A3 1.9 TDI (BXE engine).
A few months back I notice that very rarely my car would suddenly judder whilst acceleration. And I had it switch off on me at low speeds (all whilst on a roundabout!). My friend was due to look at it at some point. However car died on me a month ago with severe juddering and then cut off. Had it towed to friend. Car would not start. Came up with the Engine Speed sensor (G28) no signal P0322 fault and the car not starting with the rev needle flying to max if you try.
Had the crankshaft sensor replaced (twice as thought first was faulty) Didn't fix it. Had camshaft sensor replaced too and that didn't help. Checked all wiring and ECU and cleaned and rewrapped. Replaced a relay too. Then we changed tandem pump as it seemed like it was going too and we had a spare new one sitting on shelf. At this point the car would start perfectly. Thought we had fixed it until we tried to drive it. The original problem is back where it would judder upon acceleration randomly though more frequent now and not really possible to drive.
We had to take the gearbox and clutch out as the crankshaft sensor snapped when trying to take it out and in the process a new clutch and flywheel was fitted as I needed one soon anyway plus we didn't think this problem was going to be so bad! Oh a side note - in the process of taking the crankshaft sensor out, the round magnet thing that it reads was slightly damaged but we don't think its causing this problem though as it seems to be off the middle portion where the sensor reads from.
It has also had a full service. Last year a new camshaft was fitted too.
Any ideas? This car has been good to me so far and I don't want to just get rid of it so easily!
