No air from vents

Hi all, struggling a bit with my ac. Cool / warm comes out of vents for about the first hour of driving, then the fans appear to be still running, but little to no air is coming out.
Turn the engine off for a while, then restart and air is coming out again, but again for no more than approx 1 hour

So car is too cold in cold weather and too hot in summer.

Any suggestions would be appreciated
