Hi guys,
I am new here and was recommended by a friend to join as I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to these issues.

As the title states I have a passat and the EML is on.
I had it go for diagnostics and they gave me this report just wandered if anybody can assist in decrypting this and telling me what needs to be done as I have been messed around by garages all too much and cant seem to find a trustworthy one these days.
Also at higher speed the glow plug light flashes and the power of the car goes very weak.
I have attached images of it there are some bits highlighted and others aren’t. Not sure as to why but I would just like a fault free car.
From looking at the report and scratching my head it seems like there are loads of errors?? Is that possible as I have not noticed anything other than the 2 stated issues.
Somebody did say double check your control module or something of that nature?
please see link for the images.

Thanks in advance for any assistance

Most of the minor fault codes listed are to do with electrical circuits so yes, you can have this many faults and more. Each control module stores faults whether they are temporary or permanent - some will be of enough severity for the ECU to trigger dash warning lights whereas others do not affect the running of the car and will be recorded to let you know there is or has been an issue with a particular module. Modules will be areas such as Engine, Transmission, HVAC, Central Electric, Doors and so forth. The number of modules depends on how 'loaded' your car spec is. Higher spec usually means more control modules (little computer boxes monitoring and controlling functions of that area of the car with the ECU being the one they are all linked up to).

The odd bit is that the scan has revealed an oxygen sensor issue or issue with the wiring or circuitry including fuses etc. but yours is a diesel and won't have O2 sensors so their scan tool is not as good as it should be. Exhaust sensors on a Tdi tend to be pressure or temperature ones and therefore a scan with a proper VAG capable scan tool such as VCDS would produce a more accurate picture of the faults you have. Being in the Midlands there will be many forum members with VCDS who may be able to scan your car properly for some beer tokens. You do have a knackered AC condenser though as proved by the garage you went to. That will need to be replaced and the system recharged.

Thanks for your response
Appreciate your info and taking time to write up. il search and find somebody for a vcds scan.
in regards to the AC is it the condenser or the compressor that requires changing ?

The garage thinks that both need replacing but there is not enough information as to why they think the compressor is bad. Often it is the solenoid on the compressor that is an issue but there seems to be only the low pressure fault registered due to the holed condenser unit. I would probably have the compressor tested by a dedicated auto AC firm. I put a used (tested) replacement compressor on mine recently for £35 as the spindle had cracked and the big circlip no longer held the pulley on safely. Fitted a new condenser at the same time complete with new dryer for £75 and had the system recharged. All good again now.

Your main concern however should be the first fault as it is affecting performance / causing limp mode. It will probably mean changing the first exhaust sensor as they cannot be cleaned but I would check the wiring first to rule out a wiring issue.

Thanks mate. great info!
glad to hear you resolved the AC issue as the weather is getting really hot now.
when you say the exhaust sensor where is this located?
and in terms of wiring checks would i be looking at a specific wiring issue? Would it be wires running from the sensor to the ECU that i need to get checked?
I may see if any forum members can look into this as i would much rather trust somebody from here than half of these garages due to prev experiences.
