Hello everyone
Apologies if I appear as a single time user who will then disappear.
I did register a long time ago, but until now, have not needed to ask for advice/help, instead reading every thread.
My 2107 Passat GT had a new head unit fitted last week (a line of vertical dead pixels)
Yesterday, I decided to update the maps myself using the DiscoverCare utility. I kept telling myself to not bother, as it could all go horribly wrong, having read that this program is a bit flakey.
Of course, the utility ground to a halt at 89% installing. " Error during extraction of archive file".
I placed the SD card back into car in it's slot, now " navigation database not available"
I found the backup file in windows explorer, pasted that onto SD card, but the "navigation database not available" message remained.
I really have no idea where to go from here. I am not very technically minded, so suggestions and advice would be very appreciated
