Hi all,
Dead man walking. G/F has a 2008 2ltr diesel passat estate which, until 2 days ago was running fine. The rear wiper stopped working and I helpfully ( read: stupidly ) said it's probably the fuse and went to look. No blown fuses were found but I noticed that a wire going to a piggy back fuse had come apart at a crimp connector so I re-crimped it. Wiper still didn't work so I left it and thought no more about it.
She's gone to leave this morning and found it wouldn't start ( I'm in trouble now ) so I left her to call green flag. They turned up, declared they couldn't fix it and offered to take it to a garage - it's still here :(
I wonder if by re-crimping that wire I have blown something but can't find anything "obvious". It has been suggested to me that the fuel pump fuse or relay could be the issue but, in all honesty the handbook seems to be about as much use as a chocolate fireguard.
Has anybody else suffered at the hands of an eejit like me and do you have any practical solutions to offer?
TIA
