Hi All,
Hoping someone can guide me in the right direction - I have an Audi A6 on lease and noticed an alert on the dash 'Oil and Inspection Due' as the car is approaching 19k.
I've spoken to my closest Audi dealers who have quoted me £450-£530 (!) which seems excessive for it's first service.
Does the amount sound right? I've been told I need to get it serviced by a dealer as part of the lease agreement but wasn't expecting it to cost that much.
Thanks!

I got a major service done on my 2013 manual 2.0tdi for £340 so that sounds ludicrous at that price

I've just rung about my 38k service and have got a quote for £629 as I've to get the s tronic gear oil and filters done. They then said for the interim service and s tronic transmission oil and filter change it would be £405. Crazy prices for a service [emoji58]

If u go to an Audi dealer, prices should be fixed. I just got the 2 year service plan for £450. And you can spread it over 18months

Sounds about right. Welcome to Audi, although to be fair most marques are much the same these days.

What engine do you have? And what year is your car?

I’m guessing your car under 3 years. Which then indeed you will get f#€%ed.

Thanks all...looks like im gonna have to take this one on the chin! My A6 is a 67 reg (just over 16 months) and 2.0 tdi. Most dealers are not price matching eventhough Audi advertise this on their website.

It's going to be your entire service cost over the three years, so look at it like that.

Mine says the inspection and the oil service are both due soon at about the same time, I always thought that the oil service was the same as the inspection but with an oil change tacked on??
Is that not the case?
So in effect my car will go in for 2 services on the same day??

Hi. As its 2 years and around 18k then it will be its first service, interim service, basically an oil change only. The cost you have been quoted is about right, that's how they make money on new cars.....

Thanks All.
I found another Audi Garage who quoted £350 so hoping my local one can match it to save me the time travelling up to it, fuel etc. All branches (even ones in the same franchise group) seem to make up their own prices. And as for price match, most of them don't do it even though Audi's website advertises it.

For Audi to do a price match you need a written quote from the other garage showing all costs and in particular clearly showing that they will be using genuine Audi parts in the service and not a third party equivalent (even if in reality it is the same part!). Also be aware that many Audi dealers put a mileage limit (typically 100 miles per day) on the loan car so travelling to another dealer more than 50 miles from where you want to be while they are doing the service may also be an issue. Not sure whaer in London you are but previously I did find that Audi West London were more expensive than other Audi dealers in and around the area (got to pay for the prime site on the A4 somehow I suppose). Another simple way to get the costs down is to tell the dealer you will provide the oil. Buying 5l of oil that meets the required VW Oil Standard from somewhere like Halfords or EuroCarParts or even online, will be much cheaper than the dealer selling it to you in lots of 100ml
