Yes you are allowed to fit the OE system which was optional but it is a hugely complex job as you need to install the suspension height detection system if yours does not have it, Private Message me your reg and I will see what sort of a job it is.

The car has headlight wash which is a prerequisite for HID lights and self levelling headlights with front and rear suspension height detection, these are the two main stumbling blocks. Assuming you want to keep this simple and not go for cornering lights you need a pair of headlights from a 6 or 8 cylinder model so part numbers 4L0 941 029 D and 030 D, £730.27 each from Audi..... these were used from 2007>2009 but you can get the by Valeo.
thanks for your replys crasher.
tve looked at the pdfs you sent, but a bit over my head!
ive found this adapter. https://www.kufatec.com/de/alle-produkte/adapter-xenon-scheinwerfer-fuer-audi-q7-4l-40528
what do you think?
ive noticed two extra cables in the kit,but cant see where these connect.

That should work, the connectors will plug into a housing but you should get instructions.
cheers crasher,
just checked my connector on the car to the headlights.
its a ten pin connector, but only four wires used?
will this matter?
cheers.

Yes it will, what are the wire colours and at which socket point numbers?
now you've asked me!!!
will have to check,
but when i looked from the top looking downwards two blank, then the four wires, then four blank.
if that makes sense?
