View Full Version : Question Tire pressure sensors

Basically had my worn down brakes replaced for new ones however didn’t use an audi garage or audi specialist as i used the garage i used to always take my previous ford, its been a while since they where done but iv noticed that i never seem to get the light on the dash for when the tires lose there saved pressures does anyone know how i can check that the tpms is still working or is there anyway of checking this ?

On the C7 it works via the ABS sensor using wheel speed. A low pressure tyre will spin faster than correctly inflated one. Its not as sensitive as a pressure sensor in the wheel but it also doesn't need batteries replaced or corroded valves.
You will have a setting in the MMI, under the CAR menu, SERVICE & CHECKS, you check your pressures manually then press store.
It does work, I had a tyre that picked up a puncture in my last car, it told me, also current C7 has told me of a soft tyre too. Takes about 5-10psi drop for it to register.
