Hi. Not the ideal way for a first post, but I am need of help.

I have two fault codes P001600 Cam-Crank correlation and P034100 Cam Position Sensor Range. The car runs awful at low revs and needs a good cranking to start.

I changed the cam sensor, but still get warning lights and lumpy low rev running. Any ideas please?

Check engine valve timing.

Valve timing? Would it happen as quick. Everything was ok, then next start.....problems.

I did change the coil pack and ignition leads two weeks ago. Could I have nudged a wire? But why happen two weeks later?

Everything is always okay...until it’s not.
Cam:crank sync error is flagged when valve timing is out.

"Everything is always okay...until it’s not." Great quote.

I shall check timing first thing tomorrow and report back. Thank you for the help and advice.

Which engine, fuel of the Devil or petrol? Size, engine type code? Sounds like a chain cam petrol though.... got one to do in the morning.

You have added to may 00 on those codes.

VAG Error Code: 16725/000833/6039/4113

EOBD II Error Code: P0341

Fault Location:
Camshaft Position (Hall) Sensor (G40) - Implausible Signal

Possible Cause:
Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)(K83) active.

Wiring/Connector(s).
Camshaft Position (Hall) Sensor (G40) faulty.
Timing misaligned.

Possible Solutions:
Check/Replace all faulty Wiring/Connector(s)..
Read Measuring Value Blocks (MVB).
Check Camshaft Position (Hall) Sensor (G40).
Check Timing.

Tech Notes:
Sometimes and in some models, low battery voltage or a weak starter can trigger a Camshaft Position Sensor code.

When is the code detected?:
The camshaft position sensor signal sent to the Engine Control Module (ECM) during the first few seconds of engine cranking is out of range.

Description:
The Camshaft Position (Hall) Sensor is an electronic device used in an engine to record the rate at which the camshaft is spinning. This information is used by the Engine Control Module (ECM) to control ignition and fuel injection. The camshaft position sensor senses the retraction of camshaft (intake) to identify a particular cylinder. The Camshaft Position (Hall) Sensor senses the piston position. The sensor system consists of a rotating part, typically a disc, as well as a static part, the actual sensor. When the engine is running, the high and low parts of the teeth cause the gap with the sensor to change. The changing gap causes the magnetic field near the sensor to change. The change in the magnetic field cause the voltage from the sensor to change. When the Crankshaft Position Sensor system becomes inoperative, the camshaft position sensor provides various controls of engine parts instead, utilizing timing of cylinder identification signals.

You need to get the valve timing and compression checked, we have just condemned a 15 Ibiza Bocanegra 1.4TSI today for low compression, he bought it in for preventative chain work.....

Problem sorted.

My fitting of new ignition leads caused the problem. I didn't tuck one of the leads into the clip array, and was resting on the cam sensor wire. The electrical pulses on the ignition lead obviously interfered with the cam sensor wire. Something I didn't realise.

Now tucked in properly, the car is good

Hi Guys,

Am new to the forum. However need some help ( Audi S3 Year 2014 )

Having Fault Code
P138800 CTRL MODULE FAULTY
P11A200 CAMSHIFT ACTUATOR 'A' CYLINDER 1
P11AA00 CAMSHIFT ACTUATOR 'A' CYLINDER 3
P11AE00 CAMSHIFT ACTUATOR 'A' CYLINDER 4
P11A600 CAMSHIFT ACTUATOR 'A' CYLINDER 2
P11A400 CAMSHIFT ACTUATOR 'B' CYLINDER 1
P11AC00 CAMSHIFT ACTUATOR 'B' CYLINDER 3

Already Check the values from the Camshift and they are all giving the same values.
Checked the Wiring from the Camshift to the ECU plugs and there is continuity.

The Car been sitting for 2 months during the confiment period and drove 1 day without any problem but the issue came on the next day after a 'pop' from the exhaust.

Any suggestion, please help . Thanks37048

There are to many 00's in those error codes.

You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing and check systems out.

What is strange is that I cannot get Values from live data on the diagnostic. It’s like the ecu is not receiving a particular signal.

We need a proper VAG specific code read scan posting properly preferably using VCDS but the first thing I would check with all these codes is take the sump off and check for oil pump pickup contamination.

Can you explain me more what does this message means of Stinca please? It is wiring probleme? Cuz i have the same probleme. This is his message (My fitting of new ignition leads caused the problem.
