Just had first service & inspection and it's reported light misting of oil OSR shock absorber
Would this be covered by the 3 year warranty (can't a straight answer from dealership?
How soon does something like this need to be addressed?

If this is your first year/inspection; I would be surprised if the dealer didn’t replace it. May need an ‘insistence’ from you the customer tho. Potential for this to only get worse in future years etc...

Thank you Gmonster. It was a 2 year inspection but I'd still have thought it ought to be covered
I'll be persistent as you suggest

First year they would prob have replaced.. beyond that they will test your ‘insistence’ ... take it to a local supervisor/manager.. and if necessary contact Audi UK customer services..

dampers should be replaced in axle pairs, if it's showing signs of oil wetness it'll be on the way out and possibly an MOT advisory or failure next year. not good at 2 years old unless high mileage or hammering roads.

There is a VAG TPI which shows light misting to be NOT an issue and warns that “groundlessly replaced parts will be redebitted” and goes on to say that this light misting is actually beneficial to the life of the seal, they should read their own TPI’s!
