So today I had ago at replacing my can gateway for a later version to avoid the battery discharge issue as I want to fit an RNS 315. Failed miserably, followed guides from you tube , but couldn't get new unit to accept codes , ticked all the boxes in the installation list that were ticked for old unit, hit 'do it' and got message 'coding rejected, error00;unknown tried again with generic code 359002 as read somewhere that this might work, no, message; vcds has detected a change in coding length, do you wish to continue, and when you do-coding rejected, error 10; general reject. Anyone any clue as to what I'm doing wrong?

I used an N variant for my radio upgrade but anything beyond F should be fine. Follow the instructions that have been posted many times. Is the coding correct? Try to disconnect battery then try the coding

So, the code on the old module was :-3DFD1C04C22003. When I put this code into the new one it came up as not being long enough?

Click the radio module, coding, long coding helper and manually tick off the boxes that represent your radio set up. Additionally see if you can find the coding of this newer can bus radio.
