Golf v Display red line

hi i bought my mk5 golf a couple months ago,
and the display has this weird red
line on it. it started to show about a month ago what could be causing this and how do i fix it

Someone here with a similar problem.

If you read through, there is advice on how to clean the display ribbon conector.

Otherwise it will probably need a new LCD display.
