Echo on hands free phone calls

We have just bought a new Fabia SE and are pleased with it. However there is something odd about the hands free calls. My wife called me from the car, whilst using CarPlay and I could hear an echo of everything I said about a second later. Is that normal? It doesn’t happen on our other vehicle with CarPlay. If it’s a fault, I’ll take a trip to the dealer.
