Is it possible to turn off adaptive cruise control to just cruise control on the go?
Some time I would like the car to maintain the set speed other times sensor get full of snow and ACC is turned off, but still would like to have cruise control, that doesnt require sensors.
Is it possible to do on the go?
Sorry if this was answered before.

In my limited experience with ACC it is not possible to do just normal cruise control

I’ve never seen a way of disabling mine. Having said that, I wouldn’t want to go back to ‘normal’ cruise after ACC. It took a bit of getting no used to at the start but I think it’s brilliant.

Yes, I agree it is very nice feature, and I use it all the time. But when it gets covered in dirt and snow it stops working then would be nice to have atleast cruise control.
Not always possible to stop and clean when driving in a snow storm on a highway. :) Not very safe.

It sounds strange to me.

I had only one time, when the ACC became useless, when there was a bug in the system. However, the solution was easy, I cleaned the remainings of the bug off the lenses, and the problem disappeared.

I think, the ACC/Braking guard uses radar technology, so the dirt, dust, rain or snow will not affect the working conditions, but of course in winter I can imagine such weather conditions where the ACC will turn off. But for me it could mean, that it could be the worst idea to use a regular tempomat. But it's only my humble opinion.

ACC also uses the camera in the windscreen so, if that is dirty, ACC disables itself. Sometimes, in particularly filthy weather, giving the screen a wash doesn't clear the camera enough. You also lose all other camera-related functions such as lane assist and speed sign notification. I have also had the radars shut down due to excessive snow build-up - once or maybe twice?

I never had these issues, probably I was lucky. However I still say, in such weather conditions it's too risky to use a regular tempomat.

I took a picture of the sensor :)
There is no wonder its is not working. And yes, it is maybe not very safe to use acc in bad conditions, but still I would like the option of choosing between ACC and CC.
