Good morning all,
I'm trying to help my dad solve some problems with his A4.
The amber engine management light is on and getting fault code P2181. I understand this is a temp sensor fault or a temp thermostat fault, or both. The temperature gauge seems to be floating around. Goes up to operating temp then drops.
Car is Audi a4 B8 TFSI 1.8 Engine.
This seems to be a common fault - has anyone had it and has a fix or recommendations on replacement brand?
I would appreciate if anyone can advise the correct part number for the thermostat and the sensor as I'm finding different looking thermostats below - the Metzger looks diferent to the Triscan one:
