Good Morning
I have a 1.6 FSI Golf 2005 with error cod P2293
This could possibly be due to the CAM follower I believe, however I am struggling to find the part. My fuel pump is mounted in the same place as the following Video: Audi A3 1.6 FSi High Pressure Fuel Pump Cam Follower Tappet Change P091 - YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6DWgbep1Ezk)
which seems to be different to the majority of other vehicles. Does anyone know if the following will fit? febi bilstein 37162 cam follower for high-pressure pump - Pack of 1: Amazon.co.uk: Car & Motorbike (https://www.amazon.co.uk/febi-bilstein-37162-follower-high-pressure/dp/B00DZOFA1W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1546941268&sr=8-1&keywords=cam+follower)
If not, could anyone point me in the right direction
I also have had the EGR valve cog lose a few teeth, luckily I have moved it so it does not affect the valve opening/closing

P2296 points to a fuel pressure regulator valve problem. N276. I tend to use the Ross Tech site to obtain more information on error codes. I have the 2.0 fsi so not too familiar with the 1.6. I don't think the cam follower would throw a code if it's failing. If it's like my 2.0 fsi the follower is a mechanical part which is part of the high pressure fuel pump.

If you have an early BKG or BAG code engine, yes this can be a worn pump cam follower, you have to take off the pump to find out.

CAM follower was slightly worn, but not all the way through. Still replaced anyway as I had ordered the part. Error still showing

If your original error code was camfollower related You might find the light goes out after a few trips. It would be best to have the error code cleared via VCDS and see if the same error comes back.
