View Full Version : A4 Avant Quattro TFSI with tow-bar & 2nd battery in spare wheel Well - Anyone??

Hi All - I’ve jus bought a used 2014 A4 Quattro Avant TFSI with a factory fitted tow-bar which would be useful for my bike rack (http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_nkw=bike+rack). However I’ve discovered a 2nd battery in the spare wheel well under the spare eurotyre thing. It looks factory fitted but I can’t find out any information on it - either from the hand book or googling. I did find a google image - but that was all. I assume it’s leisure battery for towing a caravan etc - but has anyone got one too or any information on it as an Audi option.

If this is only one you have, this is main battery and oem location for b8.

Many thanks Gunnark100 - You’re absolutely right it is the sole battery. I had a quick look around the engine compartment, when I bought the car, and assumed there was a battery under the cover by the scuttle. Just like my 2 previous A6s & outgoing b6 A4. Now I know!

I was actually looking to see if a full sized spare would fit into the spare wheel well - but I assume with the battery in there that is highly unlikely now.
