Message popped up on Friday - engine management light came on, too, and remains on at all times. Car drives fine but the stop/start function stopped working. Q: the car is due a major service in 2k miles, which will be approx end of January/beginning of Feb, do I wait until then to get it fix, or should I get it seen now? I've got a trip to France planned over the festive period so slightly concerned, although unlikely that my local Audi Dealer will be able to booked me in until January...

Why is it dreaded? It can be as simple as not fastening your seat belt although god knows why that is.....

get it checked, £60.00 for a buzz through the computer system may just put your mine at rest.

Are you getting any other faults like abs, cruise control? That could be just faulty abs sensor.

I had asc abs / stopstart / parking brake all come up had it checked and found out it would cost 5,000 to fix...… huge job...….

relax - it was an abs wheel speed sensor - under 100 to fix. trouble is cars are a heap of sensors these days

£710 later fault fixed by Audi Garage. The problem was a faulty throttle valve J338. Part replaced and all back to normal now. Thanks goodness to the extended warranty...
