a4 1.9tdi 130 starting????????

hi guys new to this forum i have a 52 plate a4 1.9tdi avant and i am having some starting problems of a morning// i turn the key to start.it fires for a split second the dies so i keep cranking it over as well as depressing the throttle and then after a shortwhile it starts during this process the oil light appers on lcd and starts bleeping once started its great all day until parked up overnight.i have changed the glow plugs and fuel filter but no joy? can anyone help as very stressed:confused:

I have the same car 2001 @ 145000kms. The same problem started 2 months ago. In the morning and at night, it takes about 2-3 mins to start, but when started no problem to switch engine on and off. Only when the car has been parked for 2-3 hours that problem occurs again.

Last week car would not start and battery went flat after cranking for 5 mins. Got it towed to garage and car started again. Garage dismantled inlet manifold and found half blocked with carbon. Got it cleaned up but same starting problem again but with an intermittent rattling noise sometimes and loss of power.

Final diagnostic - Camshaft used and need replacement, not pushing the valves properly and therefore difficulty in creating the proper combustion to start engine (But I don't understand why it starts fine after engine has been on for some time).

Does this sound familiar?
