Looking to see if anyone has done a guide on how to go about a cam belt and water pump change on a 2.0tdi. All I can find on YouTube are 3.0l or versions other than the c7. I looked in the “how to” section, and tried search function but can’t dig anything out. Surely there’s a guide floating around somewhere

Much appreciated

Hi,
I done my own on my 2011 s line.
Very straight forward, finished it within 5 hours , and that was with people in my street stopping me for a chat.

I purchased a manual online, and got to say it was brill.

I can dig it out for you if you like.

Cheers Stu

That would be great if you’re able to dig it out 👍🏻 I tried looking into online manuals but kept running into supposed scam ones and lost hope of finding a legit one.

I’ll be attempting it with a work colleague of mine who was previously a mechanic so he’s got an idea of what needs to be done. I just figured there would be a thread out there somewhere giving some details of any problems that people have encountered or what extent they went to in terms of stripping the front end.

What timing tools did you use to lock the cam etc btw?

This is the can locking kit I used.
Cheap via online auction site.

Front end is straight forward.
Once you have bumper removed , you remove the bumper bar. Then from what I remember I placed a long m10/12 bolt say 120mm long , 1 each side , in the bumper bar bolt holes. This allows you to pull the front end forward supported by the bolts.

Fixing bolts for water pump are a little fiddly.

I will dig it out tonight and email to you if I can .
Pm me your email address.[emoji1303]

Bare with me as the reason I’m on the forum looking is because my car just went into limp mode and vagcom says egr valve 🤦🏻*♂️🤦🏻*♂️ so looking into that now [emoji51][emoji51]

Hi. You might be better off if you delete the post with your email address in it, you never know who might use it...

We’re you able to get a record of the belt change uploaded onto the online Audi service history somehow after you had completed the job?

Tbh , I haven’t really thought about it.
My brother works for the be group and he gets me all my parts with his discount. So I keep all my receipts for genuine parts in with my service history.
Plus I’m not really bothered about that side of things really as I will be keeping the car and running it until it gives up.
My other car is a my99 Passat with 207k 🤣🤣
