Well I'm going to replace the power steering part on my Audi B8.

The part number I have from the unit in the car is 8k0 145 156 G

Looking at ETKA diagrams online and trying to understand how part numbers work (!) am I right in thinking that provided the pump I am looking for has the same first 6 digits I should be ok?

So I have found 8k0 145 154 H - I reckon this should fit shouldn't it?

I'm making this conclusion as digits 7,8 and 9 are random and the letter just means whether its newer or older so should all be compatible.

Any help on understanding part numbers and whether my understanding is correct would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers

If you send me the VIN number by PM I can check on ETOS to see what the correct number is... I think the last letter is a version so those may, or may not be interchangeable, if the last 3 numbers are different I suspect that may be a different pump.. i may be wrong, been 30 years since I keft the dealer. :)

OK, the number I come up with is 8K0 145 154H which it now states as "dropped" which I think mean it may have changed number :) so the one you found appears to be correct ...
