Replaced water pump with housing

I’ve just changed the water pump on my a4 it was not that bad around two hours to do
cost £186 for parts needed god knows how Audi can charge £700+ I’m not even a mechanic they should only take one hour max

Don't you have to do the CAM belt as well when you change the water pump? I know you are advised to change water pump when you do the CAM belt!

On the 1.8 CDHA engine the water pump is run from the balance shaft and is located next to the gearbox so no need to upset anything todo with the timining chain.
