2012 2.0TDI Bluemotion 3C.

It's time for new rear pads. I'm told I'm going to need to deactivate the EPB to do this.

I have VCDS, has anyone done this job and can advise how to use VCDS to deactivate the EPB and will I then need to rewind calipers or do the pistons just push back?

First time I've done rears on this motor.

TIA.

Thanks UMEL, that's a handy link.

Looks like it's a bit complicated but deffo doable.

For anyone following this, job done, easy.

I ended up using a Bosch ATX machine that has easy to follow menus to rewind the EPB. This could have been done using VCDS with only slightly more faff.

Two bolts hold the caliper on, once that's off the pistons just push back, no need to rewind.

Put it all back together and reactivate EPB. Job done in half an hour.
