The "Other Service".

Morning all,

I've had my A4 Avant (63, 94k miles 2.0Tdi) for a year now and I'm loving it. Oil change indication came on last year so I sorted the oil and filter no probs. Audi confirmed the cam belt had been changed prior to my ownership along with any other recalls.

Now the other service warning has been indicated for a month or two but I'm reluctant to pay my local Audi guy a couple of hundred quid for I'm not sure what.

Just what is involved in the other service? Is it more of an expensive inspection? I'm happy to change filters and the like at home so don't mind a bit of home servicing.

Any info greatly received.

Full code read, print and clear, brake fluid water test, coolant strength test, full underbody visual inspection, reset service indicator, gearbox oil level check etc, basically all the jobs you can ignore until something missed causes a failure.....

I hear what you're saying Crasher and certainly don't intend ignoring things if I can.
How hard is it to check/top up the gearbox oil?

Do yourself a favour and get a vagcom cable and programme
You can reset the service reminder and check all codes yourself
All this for under half the price the Audi ******* ships will charge
For a service
