Car just failed it’s first mot on both rear fogs not working
Bulbs not the issue and no warning light letting me know, all other lights in cluster fine. had a new rear bumper last month with new lights. Bodyshop is closed until Monday, if I can’t fix it by then I’m going to have to take day off work to sort it.
any ideas

Well this is wierd now. It seems there’s nothing wrong with the lights or wiring. The reason the fogs aren’t working is the cars Brain is telling them it’s towing so not operating, thing is it’s never towed and the rest of the rear lights work and so do the rear sensors and camera!
In the menus for towing is turned off.
Car is currently at a diagnostic specialist who is remotely connecting with Audi to work out

Have you got towbar and wiring fitted as wonder if they pinched a wire when fitting the new bumper.
Normally when you connect a caravan or trailer it turns off the fogs, rear parking sensors and makes a caravan symbol flash on the dash when indicating.

Wish it was that simple lol
No caravan symbol on
Cars never had a tow bar. All wiring has been checked and nothing wrong :(
Still waiting for Audi to log into car to diagnose but looks like a software issue. Lights will work if operated via a laptop
Apparently car thinks it’s towing which turned fogs off but sensors and camera to operating. Turning towing on and off makes no change to symptoms

did the lights work before the new bumper.
Have they changed any wiring etc?

Apparently no new wiring, just bumper and lights.
I assume fogs worked before, think I checked all lights when I purchased car 8 months ago but can’t vouch for it.
Was only very minor damage as shown below
Wondering if damage somehow made software go down spout

Turning towing off in the mmi is only to lock the car from dropping to dynamic height.
Are your tailgate lights working correctly?

All other lights are working as they should, it’s just the fogs not operating
The diagnostic specialist have checked everything else including wiring & switches etc
Continuity and resistance on all wiring is as it should be.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I’m going to burn that bloody bodyshop/ diagnostic specialist down!
Now there the rear entertainment won’t even turn on, no power at screen at the least. When I select it on mmi I just get a blank screen in dashboard screen
Screens all worked fine when it went in last time
Tv turner work on dashboard screen
This is the third issue they’ve created grrrrrrr

Well it’s back, 3rd time lucky eh
This time all looks good :)
Turns out it needed a software update and coding.
Certainly won’t be recommending that bodyshop due to there incompetence. Actual paint work bumper figment I can’t fault.
The wrong exhaust fitment, fog light debacle, entertainment system fault and generally poor customer service isn’t acceptable
