The Z'eer

I wondered if anyone might be able to shed some light on the following issue...
Engine check light illuminated, so a trip to the local independent garage. A diagnostic reveals an error code of P0402, the mechanic tells me it's a problem with EGR Temperature Sensor.
However, and here's the problem, apparently there's four EGR sensors and the error code doesn't denote exactly what one it is!!
This means I could end up replacing multiple sensors until the faulty culprit is revealed?!?
Car is a 12 plate.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated https://www.briskoda.net/forums/applications/core/interface/imageproxy/imageproxy.php?img=https://forums.seatcupra.net/styles/default/xenforo/clear.png&key=4edae803c383846e56d5fec37d8e110842f4a11f76a9a2 607bc3a36f76eb58efhttps://www.briskoda.net/forums/uploads/emoticons/emoticon-0100-smile.gif
