problem with my a4 1.8 adr engine. HELP.

Hi folks, can anyone help me as i have a problem with my a4 1996 1.8 adr engine. Its making a type of spark plug arcing sound and a very slight judder at low speeds. I think it might be the coil pack but as these are expensive i dont want to replace unless i know for sure. Audi say they have hardly ever sold one. LOL. Not according too other forum sites. Has anyone else had the same problems. My mates at work say it can be valves sticking or tappets. but too me it sounds just like a spark arcing. there is no rythmic sound to it if that helps anyone. you have ht leads and a transformer (twin spark 2 coils)which is fitted to cylinder 3,4.I would check the short ht leads for damage first.

Hi A8 Tech, thanks for the info. just to let you know i have booked it in for a diagnostic check. lets hope its not too expensive repair. LOL :biglaugh: :beerchug:
