Hi folks
I am thinking of purchasing a 2014 Audi A4. It is SE Technik 136ps spec with 85000 miles on the clock.
I have just a couple of questions please:
1. There is no spare wheel in the boot, i had a quick look and the battery is all that is there. Should there be some kind of spare with it?
2. As stated there is 85000 mile on the clock, what mileage should the timing belt / water pump be replaced at?
Thanks in advance

I have a 2014 SE Technik and it definitely has a spare wheel in the boot above the battery, albeit a space saver.
Not sure about timing belt. On my old 2008 A4 2L TDI the timing belt interval was 5 years or 120k miles, whichever came first.
As above, space saver.
I think the manual says 120k but this is wrong. Should be 75k / 5yrs. So if it hasn't been changed, it needs doing.

I have one of the last B8 A4, registered in Aug 2015 and a lot of the parts on it are dated Apr/May. I don't have the owners manual to hand at the moment but was reading it in the last couple weeks and saw the belt change for my 2.0tdi is something silly like 132 or 136k!!!!!!
Will not be leaving it that long, probably do it around 70-80k

Hi, it depends what the engine and spec is.
If it's 2.0TDIe, it's the eco model and therefore no spare to save weight to help with fuel economy (apparently) just a repair kit....which are usually terrible!
I found out the hard way when I got a puncture, it couldn't be fixed, instead of just swapping the wheel and being on my way, had to wait 4 hours for an AA lowloader, and be loaded onto the back of that to get me the 40 miles home!

Thanks for the replies folks. One more question please?
I checked the VIN number on Audi UK site and this car was recalled under the Emissions issue.
Has anybody who got their car recalled had any issues since? I have read of EGR failures, lower mpg etc. I am not sure does this affect the 2.0TDi or just the 1.6Tdi.
I did have a 2010 Golf 1.6Tdi that broke me with EGR and DPF issues so i don't want to be bitten twice.
Again thanks in advance for replies
My 2013 TDI was recalled for the software fix before I bought it so I don't know what it was like before but it seems fine now.
I decided not to submit my 2011 Quattro to the fix just in case.
