So I bought a used 2014 A4 Se Technik. I got it home and noticed that the firmware for the MMI was out of date and so were the maps. I phoned up to see how much it would cost for them to update the maps or if they could do it as a courtesy as I'd just bought the car. The wee sales rep came back, I'll give him his due he was shocked as well, to tell me they can't do it as a courtesy but the SD card (http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/r/sd%20card/3295_0_0/)with the new maps on it was around £400 quid, then he told me if I wanted the garage to do it they wpould also charge £102 for labour!!! They can go take a f**k to themselves. Apparently they'll only update the firmware if they do a recall?


Thats why i've signed up here, is there anyone in the area who can do this? This is what showing just now, I don't have the console with the sim card (http://www.vodafone.co.uk/shop/get-a-sim-for-your-existing-device/)slot but I do have two sd card (http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/r/sd%20card/3295_0_0/)slots. I've obtained relevant files from elsewhere. I'm in the Wishaw area of Scotland and don't have VCDS.

Just update yourself, step by step instructions are available online!

Those errors will not affect any work of mmi etc, you can clear them after week, month or years:).

Thanks for the reply. Ok so I've just had a look at the instructions I found. Ive found two firmwares one ending in K 0900 and one ending with K 0942. Which one do i use if I don't have the SD card slot? I've posted a photo of the firmware that's already on it.

From 9xx no difference anymore- for both always! But wait until next week, you will understand then, why i said so:)

If you have already ALL files in comp, it will not harm to update system...next week win is minimal, but still :)....and it is not RIP OFF:)
