Well, where do i start.....

When i decided to buy the Bora last year, a friend of mine decided to buy a car from the same place.

He bought a 53 vectra 2.0dti. For the last year he's been dissappointed with the car for no other reason than it's slower than my Bora.

Then i got my PD 100 remapped (by chipped UK) the BHP was increased from 95bhp to 133 bhp, and he really wasn't happy.

Since i've had the remap, he's been looking around at other cars, and settled on a 54 Astra 1.8i SRI, mainly because he thought it'd be faster than my Bora (sad i know!), but i'm pleased to say, that on an unused, derelict bit of tarmac not too far from me, the SRI was eating diesel fumes. :D

God i love this car, and it's a whole different animal with the remap. 0 -62 was timed at 9.5 seconds (with a full tank of diesel, and a full boot!), with the SRI coming in at roughly 10 seconds. It looks good, but thats about it!

And I bet the Astra's doors can't be unlocked remotely by using two mobile phones and the spare keys :)

Should have kept the DTI astra, can remap these to about 130-135hp and about 30nm torque.

Would have had more chance in that than the petrol.

Nice one, always good to kick some ***, against someone who's spending cash and messing around with difference cars.

VW> Vauxhall.

He should have learnt that by now.

It certainly will be, unless it's the 2.2dti which is 125hp standard. These go well after a remap.

Cheers Mark

My old Vectra GSI would give most things on here a run for their money. Unless we're talking 2.7T etc. But yes, quality wise yes, Ze Germans win hands down.

Cheers, Mark

Aye, You see a lot of older Vectra's and such like the 2.0L GSI models, sadly most are chaved up with a long twin pipe and lexus lights, and ragged to ****.

But kept tidy and serviced, those things are ******* rockets.

Still runs at 200hp, but the A6 is running at 226hp and it much more comfortable to drive.

Cheers Mark
