Skoda Octavia estate 2006. Recently had a gear box fitted. Since then it chucks up ASR and traction light up randomly and cuts the engine and will not start. Starts making a funny noise from front left side of the car. Has to leave it 20 mins then the engine starts again and no ASR and traction light on dash. Also did the same thing when it went threw a puddle. First time ever i have come across this. If any one can shed any light on this please let me know. Thanks in advance.

It sounds like something, maybe wiring, has been disturbed during the recent gearbox job, do you mean front left as in nearside above the battery where the fuses etc are? If so then check for loose connections as that will have been disturbed during box removal

Muchly appreciated for the replies. Getting in plug in tomorrow see what codes come up. Will check fuse box and loose connections. Also coolant bottle has started burning it self if that makes sense. Like the water is getting too hot. Attached photo. Anyone know why it's doing it? 3462134621
