Hi all. New to this forum. Im having trouble starting my car first time. It will crank continually without firing up, I will to pull the key out to stop it crank in and straight after I get a low oil level warning then when I go to start it the second time it fires up fine. Anyone else have this problem?.
Had a new starter put in. Also some cold mornings the battery dies altogether and needs a jump. Not sure if this is related to the first problem.
Cheers

Without negative, please find someone with vcds and with expirience and let them diagnose your issue(s)...as this guess work is pure waste of time, possibilities are "to many"!

Very odd, that no errors at all(at least dead battery should make your scan redish), btw what car(engine)?

so every time now, it will crank, but will fire up only after you remove key and start again?
dead battery...could be drain,bad charging,wiring,battery!

dead battery...could be drain, bad charging, wiring, battery! That's correct. It only happens once every few days. When I first push the key in to start, it will keep cranking over put wont fire up. I then have to to take the key out and try it again, after which starts up 2nd time. Battery is showing over 12v.

It sounds like first time for some reason fuel will not reach the destination and only second time pump will work! But as always intermittent problems without codes are disaster...but why low oil LEVEL warning ...hmmm
at least this guy had errorcode

Apparently it is a week battery. They checked it while it was running only reading 8.9v. biggest shock was to find that 2 motor mount and gearbox mount would cost 1200e [emoji849]

Audi dealer prices are well known! Try to get genuine Lemförder mounts and some good repair shop, and you will save "few":) pounds!
Still strange those battery test results !

Sorry to hijack but my 2011 2.0 tfsi has an intermittent starting issue...
It has never not started, but every time it takes a different amount of 'churning' to actually fire up. Sometimes (usually when warm) it fires up instantly, others it takes 5 seconds, others its 3 etc. Worse when it is cold but not exclusively. Battery is not the issue as just had it replaced this week.
May not be related but its been a nightmare car - had it for just over a year, 3 breakdowns in the last 8 months. 2 where audi said they changed a coil pack and the third they replaced an injector. Only error codes coming up are intermittent aircon related ones. This problem outdates them
Anyone got any ideas what could be causing it?
Thanks!

Sent from my TA-1033 using TapatalkSame! New battery and probelm remains. If i wait 30 seconds with ignition on before starting then it usually doesn't happen.

Sent from my SM-G925F using TapatalkI got an obd reader and got this fault. Manifold sensor position fault. And bank 1 O2 sensor 1, won't get any reading from it. Might be the cause

Sent from my TA-1033 using TapatalkFinally resolved the problem. Engine light came on, and the obd reader read a p2015 fault. To resolve the issue I took the actuator that connect to the manifold flaps out and disassembled it. Cleaned the sensor, and carefully installed it back. Cleared the engine light and hasnt come back since. Car starts fine now, and mpg has significantly increased. To check to see if the actuator motor is not working turn the car on and rev it. It should move even in neutral.

Thanks for the update, not had that code come up but it might be worth looking to see - my mpg is awful at the best of times.
How difficult is it to do? What is involved?
Cheers

Sent from my SM-G925F using TapatalkThe code only came up a few months after I had the problem. I am getting 55-56mpg cruising avg speed of 95km/h since I fixed the problem. Search p2015 Audi A4 on YouTube, and it's the first video explaining how to do it. Only one tool required, 30min job.

Thanks for the help! I hope ypu have no more issues. I read that if cleaning doesn't work there is a bracket you can buy to fix it fully for aroind £30.

Sent from my SM-G925F using TapatalkExactly, the reason I didn't install a bracket is cause my part wasn't worn down, and moves as it should and stops where it should. So It would of made no difference. The sensor is the part that needed a attention.
