View Full Version : Please Help B6 Power and acceleration problem- Not solved

Hello everybody.
In our family we own a 2007 Passat 2.0 TDI 170HP DSG ( Bmr engine code) 265.000 km
Every 15.000 km oil change and regular maintenance. But a year ago, it began to lose power in acceleration. I went to the mechanic and he said that it's a turbo problem.
In 30 minutes he removed, checked it, put it back to place and the car it was never the same since that day. 0-100 kph (15.9 seconds) and immediatly to 100 kph , engine check comes up and power it does like a break.
Made a VAG test and resulted 19594/P3138/012600 - Intake Manifold Runner Control: Regulation Deviation.

Changed that part and same thing. Went to a lot of mechanics and they changed all parts mostly. New EGR, new flowmeter, new turbo, 4 used injectors that parameters are ok but today still exits a lot of grey smoke with an odor like unburnt diesel.
Checked intercoolet tubes and they were ok.
Today my problem is : Very poor acceleration and not full power , high diesel consumption ( urban - 8 km/l), a lot of smoke and when engine is cold car barely moves, you need to step up the gas pedal nearly kickdown, wait for 4 seconds to give it a little power.
Today still the VAG error is 19594/P3138/012600 - Intake Manifold Runner Control: Regulation Deviation.
What should i do ?

already tried it before. nothing changed

already tried it before. nothing changed In that case I think I would be checking the vacuum setting on the turbo VV actuator --they not always set correctly/ie--set it to start open at 2-fully open by 17 -dont quote me on the numbers but a google will give the correct settings-infact Ross-Tech will/should give the rite numbers !!! or a more conman prob is the variable vanes sticking-Mister Muscle oven cleaner in the exhaust side of turbo works every time !!! Let me kno how you get on !! pos N75 faulty or even one or more vacuum lines/pipes week/leaking !!!

On a BMR the Intake Manifold Runner is the swirl flaps mechanism inside the inlet manifold. It is vacuum actuated by the vacuum solenoid above the alternator. The vacuum pipes run all the way back to the junction joining with the EGR cooler vacuum circuit and the main N75 vacuum actuator supplying the turbo actuator with vacuum.

The flap rail has 4 plastic circular flaps which close off 4 of the 8 manifold inlet ports when under low load and open fully when Wide Open Throttle. The actuator arm is connected to the flap rail with a swivel and over extension of this can cause it to stick and throw a deviation code. After a while the inlet gets clogged up with oily paste - EGR sooty gases plus wet oily air from the intercooler system. The EGR valve, pipe, anti shudder valve and manifold therefore need cleaning every 50k or so to keep them running properly. Also check vacuum lines to the manifold and that the vacuum solenoid is working. Usually poor running that you describe can be a number of issues combined some for which the car throws a code and others as a result of other parts being weak or fouled up that do not return codes until it is very serious.

I forgot to tell that after 2800 rpm power is there and fully functional, below 2800 is totally dead.

Sounds like the bloke who played with the turbo may have unscrewed the actuator rod and it's way off boosting where it should. Not sure if that should throw a code or not.

it would usually put it into limp mode-ie-it takes too long to get up to requested boost so it go's into limp-key turned off then back on-resets it-but it would just repeat limp again !!! ps-just blank the EGR-or map it out they run far better without it, and the inlets do not get gunked up at all !!!

back to basics for me


Take out air filter & drive it to see if it makes a diference

it'sm weird , because when DPF is ''burning'', rpm goes up to 1000 at minimum at is has a hard acceleration, then when dpf is cleared everything goes off and like before.
how can i make it basic setting ?
