Hi all.

We have a 2011 S4 and around 12 months ago my hubby had a slight incident in it. In short he went round a corner a little quick in the wet and it ‘bit’ him and shot him up a small banking with the left hand side (rift hand side remained on the road) there was a small wall involved too.

The alloy wheel was heavily damaged with dents and the tyre shredded. Since that time we’ve had horrible steering, it bump steers really badly and feels extremely light as in it feels to wiggle down the road. The steering arm was bent and replaced and we’ve had the wheels tracked 7 times but it only lasts a week or so if we’re lucky before going back to wiggling. The garage has had a look at all others steering elements and tells us there’s nothing wrong but there clearly is.

Has anyone had had this issue or is anyone able to help with what this might be?

Thanks in advance

Teresa

You might still have suspension components bent or damaged or subframe misalignment , if the impact was sufficient to bend the steering arm, other items will have also taken a good belting. Have you had a 4 wheel alignment check done or just simple 'tracking' adjustments? Getting the tracking done 7 times says something is up and personally i'd be looking for another garage.

Hi. Thanks for the reply.

Weve had 4 wheel alignment done at a different garage when the bodywork was repaired, cost us £50 and still didn’t work

I think you’re probably right and we should head off to another garage, possibly an Audi specialist as we’re really falling out of love with the car
