Touran washers and rear wipe

Hello

I wonder if anyone can assist with a problem on my wife's Touran. Its a 2006 model 2.0 TDi auto. The washers and rear wiper have stopped working. I have checked the fuse according to both the handbook and Haynes Manual and its ok. I have also checked the 404 relay's behind the dash and they function ok.

Could the issue be the column mounted switch or is there something more obvious

Any assistance would be grateful - as I've pulled what little hair I had left out over the problem

Do you hear the 404 relays clicking when you operate the front & rear washer? If they are clicking the next thing I would do is remove them and check the power supplies and earths on the terminals of the relay sockets. They are change over relays from what I can see on google so I'd guess terminal 4 (normally closed) will be the earth and terminal 5 (normally open) will be the 12V supply. Terminal 3 will be the output to the washer pump. Try connecting a voltmeter between terminals 4 & 5 on each relay socket and make sure you get 12V (ignition on).

BTW, did you try swapping both relays over to see if that changes anything?
