Hello to all
Just doing some work on my mother's MK IV GT TDI, which is totally original including the original 6J x 15 Avus II Wheelset. At the moment, she's still running the original 195 65 15 tyres, which feel less than amazing and sharp for the diesel GTI! (6Jx15 ET38 Avus II, VW part number 1J0 601 025 Q Z31 with 195/65 R15)
Research seems to suggest that I can go no wider than a 205 tyre, and they seem to come no shallower than a 40 profile, but was wondering what the best tyre improvement was out there to help sharpen up the feel and handling of the car? I want to keep the wheels original, so it will be a tyre change/upgrade only.
Many thanks...
